Are you wondering if going on a yoga retreat is for you?

You’ve seen posts from people you know or maybe strangers you follow, you’ve heard people talk about their amazing trips, and now you want to experience a yoga retreat for yourself. We are honored to take you on your first retreat!

Yoga retreats are becoming more common in the Western world, as more and more people embrace yoga, meditation and mindfulness as tools to manage stress, build healthy habits, and find balance in their lives. Booking your first yoga retreat may feel a little daunting, especially if you aren’t sure what to expect from it. So we thought we would take you through some of the things you will experience on your yoga retreat, and hopefully dispel some of that mystery around it for you.

Luxurious accomodation

No matter what part of the world you book your yoga retreat in, you’re going to experience the tranquility and peace of the space, in a beautiful area of the world. Since yoga retreats are all about removing yourself from your hectic day-to-day life, retreats are held in areas of natural beauty, often surrounded by fields, cliffs, mountains, beaches or the sea.

Building community & lasting friendships

Yoga retreats are full of people who are traveling solo or with a friend/s. You can expect to meet like minded, open, friendly people who are respectful of your space, non-judgemental and excited about traveling and learning. It’s an amazing way to meet a new community full of like-minded souls. Retreats are in fact, a wonderful chance to meet new friends from different walks of life and connect on a spiritual level.

Deepening your practice

A yoga retreat is designed to help you reach new levels in your practice, no matter how experienced you are. Having unlimited time to devote to your practice you begin to connect with your body and mind in new ways; by the end of the retreat, you will feel rested, refreshed and have a completely renewed and in-depth relationship to  your own practice to take home with you. Spending time meditating, breathing and focusing on your own body’s nourishment can bring a lot of richness to your life.

Permission to Relax

We all live such hectic lives in the modern world that sometimes all we need is permission to relax. To sit and do nothing, lie on the sand, read a book, meditate or even just sleep deeply. Yoga retreats allow for an intentional and collective slow down. They give you permission to just ‘be’, rather than ‘do’, and there’s always plenty of time for it on any retreat. If you’re not a ‘sitting still’ kind of person, there are lots of other things to explore :)

Trying something different

Whether you have only practiced Vinyasa or Ashtanga Yoga, our retreats offer the opportunity to experience both, with our most qualified teachers. Each teacher brings their unique wisdom and approach, which will deeply enrich and inform your practice. We welcome you to come with an open mind and an open heart, and you’ll find so much richness by the end.

Clean Eating

Yoga philosophy follows the basis of ahimsa and suggests a vegetarian diet. We are aware this choice is not possible for all at all times, but we choose to offer a  week of clean vegetarian eating with a wide variety of meals, all cooked on site by expert chefs. Every meal is designed to give you the energy you need for your practice as well as spark your tastebuds with unique delicious dishes.

We list all of our upcoming yoga retreats here, and we guarantee an nourishing, unforgettable experience. Have questions? We’ll be happy to answer them, just get in touch with us today.
