1. What does yoga mean to you?
To me, yoga is a journey and practice to be my best self. A willingness to make the effort and breathe through it - however pleasant or uncomfortable it may be.
2. What drew you to the Shala and why did you stick around?
I started taking classes in Bibi’s garage before the Shala opened and I was drawn to her warmth, guidance, and reverence to the practice. I was stoked when she told me she was going to be opening up the Shala. I keep returning because the teachers honor and have a deep respect for the tradition and practice.
3. What's one piece of advice you'd give someone new to yoga?
Yoga is so much more than a physical practice, it’s really an awareness one. That being said, yoga asana helps to calm the monkey mind - you’re not thinking about the past or projecting into the future when you’re paying attention to your breath and the subtleties of your body.
4. What's a fun random fact about you?
I’ve been skydiving over the Grand Canyon. I took ground school to start getting my A license, but then chickened out ;)
