Ashtanga Yoga Newburgh

Learn traditional Ashtanga Yoga

Derived from the traditionally called Mysore style Ashtanga, this method of studying yoga asana is tailored to the individual's needs. Postures are taught one by one in a quiet room through individual instruction from a skilled teacher. The practice is taught gradually and according to each person’s needs and abilities.

Our Shala honors the lineage of Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Paramaguru Sri R. Sharath Jois. Bibi Lorezetti is a direct student of Guruji and dedicated to honoring his teachings, and life dedication to the practice.

Excellent For Beginners: Come observe or take a class during designated hours and speak to our teachers about initiating practice.

Julie Madsen

Julie (she/her) has found yoga to serve as an aid to helping her move through the journey of life. She believes her personal practice to serve as a constant guide into a mindful presence, which contributes to becoming more self-aware and gaining self-acceptance, something we all as humans work on for a lifetime.

You will usually find Julie in the Mysore room. She loves the consistency of ashtanga and learning more each day to better her skills as a teacher and practitioner.
