Silence
India is here. I can feel her as I move in practice. The focus, the subtle energy of the room that makes you want to stay, sit and hear the silence of being. The silence that arises when practice goes deep. When breathing intertwines itself with movement, and mind becomes one with breath, with soul.
That's the goal. We move, we stretch our bodies, our minds, into shapes we don't understand or perhaps like, so that we can find the pockets of silence that reside within ourselves. The reservoirs of peace we all have within. These pockets, often and usually crowded by everyday loudness of life, come forth and show themselves so we know they are there. So we can experience what it's like to rest in awareness of this Moment and the pure joy that comes with that.
The hope is that over time, that delicious state of being in the moment extends until we become experts at existing in that quality of being, in all situations. We can be both here externally, and here deeply inwards, experiencing the space between the two and how we are not that which we experience on the outside but that which lives within that experience.
