1. What does yoga mean to you?
Yoga means focus and (inner and outer) strength. Finding that inner source of energy and balance in class has helped me grow in so many ways. It's a way to wind down after a long day, and process with clarity.
2. What drew you to the Shala and why did you stick around?
The first yoga class I ever took was at the Shala, and I've felt welcome there since I first stepped onto the mat knowing absolutely nothing about yoga. It's a little oasis of light on Liberty St.
3. What's one piece of advice you'd give someone new to yoga?
Don't get frustrated if you can't hold a pose as long as others, can't get into as deep of a bend as others. Your journey will happen at its own pace and depth.
4. What's a fun random fact about you?
I love to roller skate. It gives me true joy (and yoga has made my balance so much better!).
