Student to Teacher Journey

I began my yoga journey in 2009 at Jivamukti Yoga in Union Square, NYC, starting as a student with a daily practice. This provided a space for me to center myself and find focus amidst the hustle and bustle of New York City life. Over the next decade, my practice naturally ebbed and flowed with the rhythm of life. However, I always found my way back to my mat at Jivamukti, where I could give my mind and body the time and space they needed.

The turning point came when I realized how essential this practice was to me—I never wanted yoga to be absent from my life. It was then that I decided to deepen my practice by becoming a teacher, with the desire to share the benefits of this transformative method with others. Jivamukti's 5  tenets; Ahimsa, Bhakti, Dhyana, Nada, and Shastra  have profoundly shaped my life, and I am committed to continually learning and expanding my knowledge of yoga and its teachings.

The well-being of the soul, mind and body, are incredibly important to me. I am constantly seeking new opportunities for growth, whether it’s through a local weekend intensive, a week-long retreat, or a month-long stay in India. The pursuit of enlightenment is a lifelong journey, and I am dedicated to walking this path.

Teaching Style & Influences
In a Jivamukti class I include each one of these 5 tenets weaved into the practice through asana, chanting,  meditation and dharma.  It can be seen as a useful tool both on the mat and off in daily life. A Jivamukti class is open to all who want to explore their practice both spiritually and physically.

Additional Interests

I love to live life and believe if you are not learning you are not living. Aside from my Yoga practice I love to scuba, Snowboard, hike and the METS! Huge Mets fan :)

I was born and raised in the Hudson Valley. I love to travel, spend time with my kids and go fishing and hiking with them.

What is Jivamukti?

The word Jivamukti broken down means: Liberated (mukti)  Individual (Jiva) The Jivamukti Yoga Method is a path to enlightenment through compassion for all beings. The practice is grounded in five tenets: ahimsa (non-violence), bhakti (devotion), dhyana (meditation), nada (music), and shastra (scripture)
