CLASS OPTIONS

VINYASA | OPEN LEVEL

Our signature Newburgh Yoga Shala Vinyasa classes are structured to feel like a moving meditation: asanas mindfully threaded together by breath. Influenced by the lineage of Ashtanga Yoga, each class includes a gentle warm up, sun salutations, standing & seated postures, inversions, backbends, final relaxation and guided meditation. You can expect a balanced, rigorous, and clearly delivered experience. This class will leave you feeling rejuvenated and grounded within yourself. Previous experience with asana practice is required.

ASHTANGA VINYASA

Based on an abbreviated practice of the Primary and Intermediate series of Ashtanga Yoga. You can expect to move through sun salutations, standing postures, a combination of postures from the Ashtanga Primary and Intermediate series, finishing postures and short meditation practice. This class is for intermediate, advanced students and for those who are interested in developing a regular daily routine. Vinyasa students are welcome. No Ashtanga experience necessary.

VINYASA: INTERMEDIATE | ADVANCED

Our intermediate-to-advanced classes emphasize the breath-movement connection, intelligent and creative sequencing, and include all major categories of postures for a strong, brisk, well-rounded practice. You can expect less focus on cueing, less modifications and a more dedicated focus on the breath count.

BEGINNERS

Steady, rhythmic, and grounding, our Beginners Level vinyasa classes offer a balanced blend of slightly slower-paced breath-focused flow and alignment with modifications and restorative options offered.
