What does yoga mean to you?

To me yoga is devotion—to both my inner and outer world practice. It’s a big part of how I’m able to be my best self on any given day. It’s not about always making it to class each week, but it’s more about implementing the takeaways from class and study in every day life. Which is the real challenge!

What drew you to the Shala and why did you stick around?

The owners are what drew me to the shala, but the teachers and space are why I come back. There is a reverence and consistency that each teacher holds for the practice and that is important to me. I also really appreciate structure and I find that the studio’s homage to Ashtanga really helps solidify [and elevate] student practice.

What's one piece of advice you'd give someone new to yoga?

No one is good at yoga and no one is bad at yoga. We are all students whether we’ve been practicing for a week or a decade, so be open to listening and learning from your body: It is a great teacher.

What's a fun random fact about you?

I am rekindling my love for travel. *shout out to Bibi’s 2022 Ibiza retreat* In my twenties I was able to travel to over 20 different countries in Europe, Africa, South America, and many U.S. cities. Now that my son is a bit older, I’m excited to start planning new adventures!
